Ice Hockeeeeey!
I have been playing ice hockey for more than 2 years
in the Japanese ice hockey team called "Moscow Frids", which is
located near the center.
Currently, I am playing centre, which is very important in hockey because the person in this position has to quickly make the right decisions to lead the team on the field.
I have to be calm and analytical at all times, and once I have chosen a tactic, I have to follow it through to its conclusion while being flexible enough in my mind and action to address any unexpected challenges or opportunities.
Every Sunday we borrow a skate rink for three hours
and we divide our team into two – adult team and youth team (including
additional team for beginners). Since I am one of the longest players in the
team I am playing in both youth and adult teams as a player and a coach.
I feel playing with adults are more challenging than
with the youth because they have better skills and more welled organized, which
motivates me.
In this season, my target is to improve my shooting
skills and to make correct decision. Also to make correct decision and accurate passes.
I am planning to achieve the following learning
outcomes:
- Increase awareness of your strengths and areas for growth – I think my strength is the‘skating speed’, so I think could contribute to the team by fast break.
- Undertake new challenges – it is my first time to be in a coaching position
- Planned and initiated activities – playing ice hockey every Sunday morning
- Worked collaboratively with others – since ice hockey is a team sports, this is an essential element for good performance.
- Developed new skills
